To meet the final component, we are developing a research based plan that will then move us towards using multi-stage Controlled Atmosphere Stunning (CAS) in our processing facility by 2027. This means that our customers are guaranteed chicken that already meets the approved breed and housing criteria of the Better Chicken Commitment. We are exclusively using our own approved breed, the Pioneer, and are certified by Global Animal Partnership Step Level 4 where birds have access to diversified pasture - this exceeds the baseline chicken housing requirements on lighting, litter, enrichment, and space allowance as well as demonstrating compliance using third-party auditing.
